Duncanville City Council’s Reformers Have 4-3 Majority

DUNCANVILLE — The old, rich white guys who run ran the city for so long are now finding out what it’s like to be on the losing side of votes. Ahhh, the spirit of former District 3 Councilman Paul Ford lives on in the form of this voting bloc:

The Anti-Establishment Votes

• District 1 Councilman Don Freeman
• District 3 Councilwoman Leslie Thomas
• District 5 Councilwoman Johnette Jameson
• At-Large Councilwoman Janet Harris

The Establishment Votes

1. District 2 Councilman Scott Cannon
2. District 4 Councilman Grady Smithey
3. Mayor David Green

Everyone is all up in arms that a 4-3 vote fired the city’s economic development coordinator, and there are threats of taking an alleged Open Meetings Act violation to DA Craig Watkins‘ office. They would never report on all of the stuff these rich, old white guys have been costing this city for years and years and years.

The Duncanville Voice Web (DuncanvilleVoice.com) site is another pipe organ for the out-of-power Establishment. It’s now starting to look like a productive city with the good ‘ol boys looking further south — like Ellis County — for which to invade.
